Overview:

Located just outside Mahone Bay, this shore dive offers an easy entry on Westhaver’s Beach and shallow water to complete donning your gear, doing buddy checks, and finalizing your dive plan. Take a bearing off the lighthouse and practice your buoyancy and navigation skills in a relatively shallow dive, approximately 20ft/6.1m, though steady current.  The closer to the lighthouse the deeper it get

Bottom Composition & Depth:

Sandy bottom with rocky ridges, 5 to 35ft/10.6m

Visibility:

Visibility varies based on many influences including the weather - rain runoff, wind and waves - the tides and the time of the day.  Improved visibility may be experienced during slack high tide.  Visibility of 30ft to 40ft/9m to 12m is not uncommon for this site.
